The physiotherapy ward opens.

In October 2007, the physiotherapy ward of the hospital of Magbenteh opened thanks to the work of three Swiss physiotherpaists: Karin, Cristel et Rosa.

The told us: "Everything started one evening in July 2006! The end of our studies was nearing and the question of our future came up very quickly. That's when, during one of our great discussions, that we discovered a point in common that all of us had, or rather a yearning, to leave for several months to help peoples in need by participating in a humanitarian project. From then on, we did everything possible to make this happen.

Full of good will, we started making phone calls, contacting associations, reaseaching the internet, but it was not as easily done as it was said. Even though there is lots to do a little bit all over the world and we only wanted to bring help there, it was not easy to find a project for three young physiotherapists who had freshly graduated.

One day in January 2007, we contacted Harald Pfeiffer on the recommendation of one of our professors, Barbara Rau. Finally a positive response. Mr. Pfeiffer agreed to take in all three of us to work in the hospital he had founded in Sierra Leone."
