Surgery for the little boy Foday in Canada!

18 months ago the five year old boy Foday had been brought to the Magbenteh Hospital because he accidently drank caustic soda (chemical often referred to as lye) that had been stored in a random bottle. This caused great damage and left him unable to eat and drink.

After a long search the Canadian organization Sickkids made his operation at the Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children possible.

Foday left at the beginning of May and was operated shortly after his arrival. Although his problem seemed more severe than they expected his operation went surprisingly well. It was about 5 hours surgery, which was much shorter than expected.

He is doing well so far but is still a while away from eating by mouth. Click on the following link for an article from the local newspaper.
